Saturday Spotlight: Marilyn Wiggins Oehm, Class of 1957 🎓

Last Updated 3/13/2025Posted in Alumni Spotlights

Each week, we feature an MHS alum and share their journey beyond high school. This week’s Saturday Spotlight highlights Marilyn Wiggins Oehm, Class of 1957, whose career in business ownership and dedication to volunteerism reflect a lifetime of service and success.

A Life of Business and Community Involvement

From a young age, Marilyn had a passion for owning a business, and she didn’t just stop at one—she successfully owned and managed three businesses over the years. Her work ethic and determination helped her build a career that supported both her family and the community around her.

With a strong belief in giving back, Marilyn used her success to support the same community that had supported her businesses.

Now retired, Marilyn dedicates much of her time to volunteering. Her philosophy is simple: her businesses were supported by the community, and she now repays that kindness by helping others. Whether through charitable efforts or service projects, Marilyn remains committed to making a difference.

Her continued engagement in community service reflects her values of hard work, gratitude, and generosity.

MHS Memories: Lifelong Friendships and Dedicated Teachers

Marilyn cherishes the friendships she made at MHS and the teachers who truly cared about preparing students for life after high school. Their encouragement and dedication helped shape her path and instilled in her a desire to work hard and support others.

She remembers her time at MHS as a place where students were guided, supported, and inspired to succeed.

While she wasn’t one to pull pranks, she laughs about how, at the time, she was too afraid of getting into trouble to participate in any mischief—something many former students can likely relate to!
