Saturday Spotlight: Maranda Iles-Pike, Class of 1997 🎓

Last Updated 3/13/2025Posted in Alumni Spotlights

Each week, we feature an MHS alum and share their journey beyond high school. This week, we highlight Maranda Iles-Pike, Class of 1997, who has built an impressive career in leadership while also dedicating her time to her family and community.

A Leader From the Start

Maranda always had a passion for management and leadership, and she followed that ambition all the way through. After graduating from MHS, she attended Fort Hays State University, earning a Bachelor’s in Business Management with a minor in Marketing and Leadership Studies.

Today, Maranda is a Vice President and the Commercial Lines Center of Excellence Leader at IMA in Wichita, KS, bringing 25 years of experience in the insurance industry to her leadership role.

Balancing Career, Family, and Community

Maranda’s success isn’t just in the office—she’s also a dedicated wife and mom of five. Her children keep her busy, from her oldest, Aubrey, a sophomore at FHSU, to Zane, Carter, Jack, and Owen, who are all involved in football, wrestling, basketball, track, and baseball.

Not only does she cheer from the sidelines, but she’s also a youth wrestling coach and a board member for Clearwater Youth Wrestling Club. On top of that, she’s serving her second term as a school board member for Clearwater USD 264.

MHS Memories: Cheer Squad and a Classic Cafeteria Combo

When thinking back on high school, Maranda remembers the bond of the Cheer Squad, bringing spirit and energy to every game. And like any true Bulldog, she had a cafeteria favorite: Chili, Cinnamon Roll, and Pickle—the ultimate classic!

A Time of Laughter and Growth

Maranda's high school days were filled with fun moments—including the harmless prank she and her classmates pulled on their 10-key adding machines in Mrs. Rowland’s class, leaving their teacher puzzled as to why none of them worked!

She also reflects on her graduating class as a special group, growing up in a unique era full of promise and excitement. When asked what day she would relive, she chose Graduation Day—a time filled with emotion and anticipation for what was next.

A Few More Fun Facts

🎤 Hidden Talent? Maranda might not be a magician, but she can touch her nose with her tongue! (Impressive, right?)
📺 Defining Show of High School? Saved By The Bell – a true classic that brings back all the nostalgia!

Looking Ahead

Maranda’s journey from MHS to a thriving career, a busy family life, and active community involvement is a testament to hard work, passion, and balance. She’s making a difference in both her professional and personal life—and still finds time to coach, lead, and inspire.
